[SPONSORED] This atypical estate in Cap Corse offers guided tours of the vineyard in 4×4. Hang on, it's a climb!
[In Porticciolo, the vineyards and olive trees of the Terra di Catoni estate cling to the steep slopes of the mountain and offer breathtaking views. For the past twenty years, Christian Mons-Catoni has brought back to life the 15-hectare olive grove, which still has some beautiful century-old olive trees of the Capanacce variety typical of Cap Corse, and the 6-hectare vineyard where the great Corsican grape varieties (vermentinu, sciaccarellu) rub shoulders with vines of sauvignon blanc and viognier, which are much rarer on the island.
From these vines, rigorously worked organically, are born original, almost experimental wines: refreshing natural sparkling wines for the summer, surprising blends between vermentinu and viognier, late harvests with a strong character...
To discover the estate, get into the 4×4 with Christian, the owner of the estate, and let yourself be captivated by this vineyard which looks like a little piece of Tuscany, with a view of the sea. On a 5 km track, he will guide you through this extraordinary garden where olive trees, vines and cypresses contemplate the sea. At the top of the vineyard, the view is truly breathtaking.
The visit continues with a wine tasting at the sales point, which also offers a selection of Corsican artisanal products (cheese, jam, honey, charcuterie, etc.) and the estate's olive oils. A small restaurant is available on site.
You can also shop at the grocery shop in Erbalunga and enjoy Corsican-Italian dishes in the adjoining restaurant. Another Terra di Catoni restaurant awaits you in Macinaggio, at the end of Cap Corse. No more excuses to miss this atypical and dynamic estate!
