An idea of your program
Day 1: Relax, it's the weekend!
Arrival in Bordeaux by train. Our local representative will be waiting for you at Saint-Jean train station to give you your travel booklet containing your weekend itinerary and all our addresses and recommendations. We will give you your travel pass for Bordeaux's buses and trams, and then you can start to relax! After dropping off your luggage atthe hotel (eco-certified), take your time to stroll through the streets of old Bordeaux.
Optional: Treat yourselves to a moment of relaxation together in a wonderful spa! We open the doors to an eco-friendly spa where you can pamper yourselves as a couple: jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, sensory shower, followed by a treatment (30 min). Lomi-lomi, Ayurvedic, deep tissue... Which massage will you melt away with?
Optional: Join our local guide for a deep dive into Bordeaux's wine culture! Our Wine Walk guided tour will show you the city in a whole new light: do you know why Bordeaux wines have become so famous around the world? Do you know where the word "vintage" comes from? And do you know Eleanor of Aquitaine, the most rock 'n' roll queen of the Middle Ages? This one-hour historical walk through the city center concludes with a guided tasting of two Bordeaux wines, in a friendly atmosphere with your expert wine guide!
For dinner, we will recommend delicious organic and local restaurants to round off this first day in style.
Day 2: Cycling through the vineyards / Saint-Emilion
Depart in the morning by train to Saint-Emilion. Pick up your electric bikes and set off to explore the vineyards! We have planned an unforgettable visit to a Saint-Emilion Grand cru estate that practices organic farming. You will discover the underground cellars carved into the limestone rock that make Saint-Emilion so unique and taste wines that you will remember for a long time to come!
For lunch, we will recommend authentic restaurants. If you wish, you can also enjoy a picnic in a château.
In the afternoon, continue your bike ride and follow whichever paths take your fancy! Optionally, you can take a guided tour of the village of Saint-Emilion and its monolithic church carved out of stone.
Return to Bordeaux by train.
For dinner, why not try something unusual? How about dining in the dark to awaken your senses, taking a cruise on the Garonne River, or enjoying a rooftop view overlooking Bordeaux? We'll give you our best addresses and suggestions.
Day 3: Alternative Bordeaux
On Sunday morning, get into the rhythm of alternative Bordeaux. Start the morning with a stroll through the Chartrons district, where street art enthusiasts can admire Le Mur. Visit the CAPC contemporary art museum, then take a break at the market on the quayside to enjoy some oysters on the go, accompanied of course by a glass of white wine! Then take the water bus across the Garonne River and stroll around Darwin, a well-known third place on the right bank.
Optional: Become an expert on Bordeaux wines with a private tasting led by our wine expert! Through five organic wines, you will discover the styles of the greatest Bordeaux appellations (Margaux, Saint-Emilion, Sauternes, etc.) and learn how to taste wine like a pro. A fun and gourmet experience that will open the doors to a whole new approach to wine.
Departure from Bordeaux by train in the late afternoon.
